Leading Lights Awards
Commitment to road safety – Projects must demonstrate commitment to saving lives and reducing serious injuries on our roads. Initiatives will be judged based on evidence provided of long term commitment. Initiatives which have not been fully rolled out or where there is no clear evidence of a willingness to commit will not be considered.
Replicability – Projects must be designed to allow replication country wide in the event that there is interest from any other individual/group or organisation in running a similar initiative.
Evidence of outcomes – Projects should ideally be able to demonstrate evidence of positive changes in behaviour. Any supporting materials ie photographs, CDs, USB or DVDs you submit cannot be returned.
Permission – You must get permission from the group / project leader before you make the nomination. You will need to confirm this and provide the group / project leader’s contact details on the application form before you click submit.
Nominations will not be accepted:
If your group / project is chosen to win an award, you must have a photograph ready for submission which would be suitable to include in the award winners booklet.
Judging process
The judging will take place in two stages. An RSA internal judging panel will review all entries and narrow them down into a shortlisted of three entries in each award category to go forward to the final judging process.
The shortlisted entries will then be judged by a panel of high profile individuals. The decision of the judges is final.
Awards
There will be one award presented in each category.
The Supreme Award will be presented to one one of these category winners. This will be an individual or group wtih the most innovative and outstanding road safety initiative, or who demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication to the area of road safety. This award will be decided by the judging panel.
Category winners agree to take part in publicity on the RSA website and in local, regional and national newspapers.
The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 11 December 2019.
